Borobudur Temple

Borobudur is the largest Buddhist monument in the world. It is located in the Kedu Valley, at the centre of the island of Java and was built around 750 AD. This temple is a three-dimensional diagram of the universe and a visual representation of Buddhist teachings. For many years, Borobudur was hidden under the layers of volcanic ash and was rediscovered in 1814.It contains 2 million stone blocks and the whole structure resembling the Shree Yantra (Meru).
